Despite the dampened spirit which may have been felt following the
close encounter of Hurricane Omar last week, the International Soca
Awards (ISA) held at the Marriott (in the Grand Ballroom) last Saturday
revved a hot and brightened atmosphere of the up-tempo and energetic
gyration associated with the jump-up music genre. |
Plans are well on the way for the 2009 edition of Carriacou and Petit Martinique’s Carnival. The official launch of the festival will take place on Saturday November 8th on the Esplanade in Hillsborough.
The Carriacou and Petite Martinique Carnival Development Organization promises to continue the development of the festival. Armed with a full and detailed financial statement and the pledged support of the Ministry of Culture, the Organization is currently ensuring all is in place to make certain that locals and visitors alike will be part of a fantastic carnival celebration. |
